RULES

OUTDOOR DOUBLES RULES (*TRIPLES)

ROSTER: 

Roster maximum of 2 players. Two players on the court per team - with no more than two players on the roster. Teams with less than the required number of players must forfeit. 

*Triples roster can be up to 4 players. Must have three players on the court per team. Teams with less than required number of players must forfeit.

SCORING:

Rally Scoring to 25 for 4 Team Pools and 21 for 5 Team Pools (TBD during tournament format). Please report scores to Tournament Director.

FORFEIT RULE:

A 10 minute forfeit rule is in effect. After the 5 minute warm up. (15 minutes total).

NET:

Women's Height Net or Men’s Height Net

ATTACKING/BLOCKING:

No Open-hand tips/dinks. No directional blocking. Touching the net is a violation, long hair and ponytails are exempt. A Block is considered a contact.

SERVING:

No rotation is required however teams must serve in order. Jump serves are permitted. Let serves are permitted.

SETTING:

Hand setting over the net is NOT permitted unless the setters’ shoulders are square and the flight of the ball is perpendicular to the net. Sets and Double calls are to be made by the ref’ing team.

SERVE RECEIVE:

Players arms or hands must be together on serve receive.

DEFENSE:

Crossing the center line is a violation if a player interferes with play of the opposing team (this is a call to be made by the ref). Players may double contact a “Hard-Driven” ball only. Foot digs are permitted. Players cannot set a free ball.

SHOES:

No cleats are allowed. Trail running or Turf shoes are permissible. Players may play barefoot.

WARM UP:

5 minute warm up between matches. If you’re not ref’ing, warm up.

 

OUTDOOR REVERSE COED QUADS RULES

ROSTER: 

Team roster shall be two women and two men.
